Last Saturday night I Completed a year and a half + run of #murderwithoutaclue by the @daintydamesevents as the French butler host Philip Ladds. With such a long run and so many sold out nights it's the most successful theatrical run I've yet done. While before the shows I did had audiences composed mostly of friends these crowds were mostly strangers that paid to see a show, and the few friends/people I knew there were the ones who worked there and the ones on stage.
I didn't post much about it; It's not a network series or a feature film or a big scale thing on the scale of what I see so many of my friends doing, but I am grateful and humbled for the experience. A very few years ago I was constantly paralyzed by fears and anxieties about not knowing what the f I'm doing despite years of training and studying as an actor. I would eschew anything in the perceived limelight to avoid the feelings of unworthiness, of feeling like eh nobody really wants to see this guy act. Instead night after night i had strangers approach me saying how happy I had made them, This for me is not only humbling but inspires me for more, and I am grateful to go in that direction than hide stunned by fears created by no one else but me. I thank the dames and crew for that one too ;)
In summation, these are fucked up times.. if you find some loving thing that makes you feel alive, then please go do it. Go be that. As Howard Thurman said the world needs people who have come alive. The fears that keep you from being you keep others from enjoying you too.
